2026 ATTENDANCE DUES

Attendance Dues are a charge payable to the Proprietor of the school (Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Christchurch) and are a condition of enrolment at integrated schools.  The Catholic Diocese Attendance Dues team will email out an invoice for all children attending a Diocesan Catholic School. 

Attendance Dues are approved by the Ministry of Education under the Education & Training Act 2020 (Schedule 6 Part 30) and are a compulsory charge.  Dues are not a donation, and they are not tax deductible.

The income from attendance dues can only be used for costs associated with the provision of school land and buildings.  Attendance Dues fund the borrowing required to provide new classrooms not funded by the Government.  Attendance dues are also used to pay other building-related costs such as Projects, Insurance, Building Warrants of Fitness and debt/loan servicing plus administration.

The level that Attendance Dues are set at is reviewed annually.

The rate for the 2026 school year is:

Catholic Character is what makes our schools special and different.  Our ethos permeates every aspect of the daily life of the school.  Your annual donation helps support the teaching of Religious Education and ensures that our Special Character gives our students the Catholic Values to make wise choices in these changing times.

Catholic Character Donation helps cover the costs associated with the delivery of professional development services in support of the Catholic Special Character in Catholic Primary Schools.  This is set at $60.00 per child per year and is exempt from GST and is tax deductible.

If a family are struggling to pay their Attendance Dues invoice, they should contact the Diocesan Office in the first instance or alternatively the school Principal or Parish Priest.
