Dear parishioners,

As you will be aware, from 11:59pm on Thursday 2nd of December, the country moved to the Covid-19 Protection Framework (Traffic Light System). Christchurch City is in Orange Status.

The New Zealand Bishops have advised that Catholics will still have the opportunity to attend Mass, whether vaccinated or not.

Sunday 26th December – Mass Times

(no Vigil Masses)

My Vaccine Pass Masses – 8am, 9:30am, 11am, 4pm, 5:30pm

Without My Vaccine Pass Mass – 7pm (booking required)

Weekday Mass Timetable for January 2022

Monday 27th to Saturday 1st January 2022 – 9:15am Mass – My Vaccine Pass Required 

Monday 3rd January to Saturday 8th January 2022 – 9:15am Mass – My Vaccine Pass Required

Monday 10th January to Saturday 22nd January 2022 – 9:15am and 12:05pm – My Vaccine Pass Required

Monday 24th January normal timetable resumes – 7:30am No VP needed  – 9:30am & 12:05pm – My Vaccine Pass Required

Mass With My Vaccine Pass

Saturday (Vigil Mass) – 5:30pm

Sunday 8am, 9:30am, 11am, 4:30pm

Mass for those with My Vaccine Pass are unlimited in numbers.

There is still a requirement for Covid Tracing – either by QR scan code or manual tracing – this is completely separate to the requirement to have your ‘My Vaccine Pass’ verified.

You do not need to register for this Mass, however staff/volunteers are required to verify your ‘My Vaccine Pass’ either by sighting it or scanning it before you can enter the church.

Masks are required for volunteers/staff – encouraged for attendees

Your ‘My Vaccine Pass’ is issued by the Ministry of Health.

Mass WITHOUT My Vaccine Pass

Sunday Mass – 6pm

Masses without My Vaccine Pass are limited to 50 attendees (excluding priest, volunteers and staff).   Masses without My Vaccine Pass are for people who do not wish to disclose their Vaccine status, those unvaccinated, or people who are vaccinated but choose to attend.

You will need to register for this Mass via the usual Mass Online booking system.

My Vaccine Pass Masses:  What you need to do

NB – the purple ‘vaccine record’ card you received at the time of vaccination is NOT your ‘My Vaccine Pass’.   You are required to get your ‘My Vaccine Pass’ from the Ministry of Health either online or by ringing 0800 222 478.  Ask your family or friends for assistance with this if you need it, or contact the parish office for assistance.
